I was hoping to blog last weekend's festivities much sooner, but this week had other plans for me. Atlys has been home all week from school with an upper respiratory infection, which means long days and sleepless nights. He's so sweet and thoughtful that he decided to share it with me. UGHHH!!! Oh, and of course the husband is gone on a tdy, because any other time would be way to convenient. HA!
Alright, so last weekend was of course, Thanksgiving. But who really cares about that, when it's your first time EVER cutting down your own real tree. I don't mean a tree farm, I mean hiking into the forest and cutting it down. It was the most amazing experience, and something I very much look forward doing with the kids every year.
Atlys, has officially decided that he hates the city we live in and the cold. BAHAHA! I really can't blame him. He has spent his entire 4 years of life near the ocean and in warm weather. There's not enough hot chocolate in the world to make him like it. It appears that our dreams of snowboarding as a family have floated away. He was an angry elf this day, and I'm a horrible mother and couldn't stop laughing... sigh.
Hot chocolate pit stop... because chocolate!
We got home, and I did nothing. haha! I decided to let the men do all the work while I took pictures. Same story different day.
Every year, Jason feels the need to wear a santa hat the entire day of christmas, it's his thing. Me being thoughtful, I decided to upgrade him. ;)
After we, and by we, I mean they got done hauling in the tree, we finally got to put it all together. It was such an amazing weekend. <3
